Pay to Play - NIL - Transfer Portal and the Impact on College Sports - Sports Guyz - Episode 15
We welcome special guest Jackson Moore, place kicker from University of Kentucky Football team last year, who just committed to Appalachian State University football through the transfer portal. He discusses his decision to pursue more playing time by taking the step to look for a better opportunity in the portal.
We also discuss NCAA lawsuits currently being litigated, which impact Pay to Play possibilities in college sports, as well as NIL deals and programs, and transfer portal rules. All of these developments are rapidly bringing the professionalization of college sports, and NCAA and schools have to rapidly find ways to deal with it. The Sports Guyz give our recommendations of some paths forward to college sports, with all the new realities in play.
Drop us a comment on what you think can be done to treat players fairly, but also save the college sports that we love to watch and the teams we enjoy rooting for, while keeping a competitive balance in Division 1 sports.

Dolley Madison, America's 1st First Lady, Bio and 25 Interesting Facts
Dolley Madison first served as unofficial first lady to President Thomas Jefferson, a widower, while her husband, James Madison, served in Jefferson’s cabinet as Secretary of State before becoming president himself. When her husband, James Madison became President, Dolley was already a well-known host and socialite in Washington, D.C. circles and was versed at holding large events at the White House. Getting an invitation to one of Dolley’s social gatherings and official parties was the hottest ticket in America. All the wealthy and connected angled to get such an invitation. Dolley is considered as America’s first “First Lady.” Dolley was more than a first lady, she was also a diplomat, political operator and Amercia's sweetheart. Some claimed she was "co-President" with her husband James Madison. Others claimed she was American's first "queen." Her legacy of public service lasted more than 50 years and there was no greater Patriot in our history - was our original "Founding Mother."

Samuel Adams, Father of the American Revolution and 25 Interesting Facts
We review the primary organizer of and agitator for he American Revolution starting in the 1760's, Samuel Adams. From a Boston family who was well known and entrenched in society (including his second cousin John Adams), he used his skills at organizing protests, boycotts and resistance actions against the British to form groups who lit the match for the Revolution. He would rally support for freedom and independence by constant organizing in the streets with the Sons of Liberty and his colleagues, John Hancock and Paul Revere, his cousin John Adams, among others. He would also get his points across in written articles in local newspapers.
From protests against the Boston Massacre, to organizing the Boston Tea Party, he gained national fame for his organizing and resistance efforts. When the British came to arrest him and John Hancock, the Patriot minutemen resisted at Lexington and Concord, and the war was on.
