AMERICAN FOOTBALL - History - Rules and Popularity of the Game - Episode 57

The Sports Guyz take on their favorite sport and America's favorite sport by far - AMERICAN FOOTBALL.  This is another installment in our "sports history" series (see our previous episodes on Pickleball, Rugby and Bocce), and we go over the origins of the game, the rules and the popularity in the USA and globally.

The Sports Guyz look at great old photos from all the generations of football players and leagues since the first game between Rutgers and Princeton in 1869, and discuss how the game has changed over the last 150 years into the game we love today.

We show several videos with clips from American football being played in different eras, and we talk about why the game has become so popular, far surpassing all other sports in the United States.
